United Drilling quotes and defines a modernization project in three Phases. Some modernization projects involve only Phase I, but the relationship of the three Phases is important to understand. Each Phase is quoted seperately, since the conditions that will be encountered cannot be determined prior to job initiation. As the job progresses, we may encounter unforeseen conditions, (concreted casing, debris in hole, broken welds, etc.) which may affect cost.

Phase I - Basic hole clean out and check for plumbness
This phase involves removing existing cylinder from the hole and from site, cleaning hole (typically utilizing bailers and chain hoists) to specified depth and establishing plumbness and amount of casing in hole.
If at the completion of Phase I it is determined the existing hole cannot accommodate the new equipment specification, the hole must be redrilled and Phases II and III follow.
Phase I must be completed prior to starting Phase II in order to determine the amount of casing to be removed.
Pricing for PHASE I can be provided based on a *day rate estimate or *firm pricing. Spoils removal from site available in certain areas.
Phase II - Remove existing casing
If it is determined the hole has to be redrilled in order to accommodate the new equipment, then Phase II will be performed. Phase II involves removing the existing casing, utilizing 200-Ton jacking equipment. All existing casing must be removed prior to redrilling.
Pricing for PHASE II can be provided based on a *day rate estimate or *firm pricing.
Scheduling may not be concurrent between Phase II and Phase III due to a change in equipment and personnel for the redrill.
Phase III - Redrill/Ream hole to required depth and plumb.
Redrilling/reaming of existing hole to depth and plumbness to accommodate new equipment. New casing is installed during redrilling to full depth or until rock is encountered.
Pricing is based upon a *day rate for InsideAir™ drilling equipment. FIRM PRICING MAY BE AVAILABLE UPON COMPLETION OF PHASES I & II. Spoils removal from site available in certain areas.
